Sirsi, although nestled in the Western Ghats of India, located at 14.6 degrees North, offers stunning views of the night sky above. It's bortle 2 skies make it an ideal location for viewers & astrophotography enthusiasts.

The best time for capturing the Milky Way is typically between March and September, with the peak visibility occurring during the summer & monsoon months. While stargazing at Sirsi in the Western Ghats, we are not so fortunate to view the galactic core as the rain bearing clouds start to appear by the end of summer. During the winters though, the sky remains clear of clouds and offer clear views of the Pleiades star cluster and some planets such a Jupiter and Saturn. December is also the month of the famous annual Geminids meteor showers.

A regular binocular is sufficient to view a handful of objects such as the Andromeda galaxy, Triangulum galaxy, Pleiades star cluster, Orion Nebula and the Beehive Cluster.

With its serene environment and breathtaking celestial views, Niche is a perfect destination for both casual stargazers and dedicated photographers looking to capture the splendor of the night sky.
